Paid Surveys Reviewed - new website

Through http://www.c4skins.net/paidsurveys I have made good money reviewing and promoting Paiud Survey Programs which are found through Clickbank. In fact 80% of my clickbank income is from Paid Survey Programs. I have also had no refunds on these products so I like them.

The problem I have is that I use Adwords to promote this page and as the url http://www.c4skins.net was never intended for this purpose it doesn't really work well in terms of "quality". This means I have to pay quite high CPC.

I noticed that my ISP has an offer on .com domains which is equivalent to $8.99 per year and following some research I feel that .com TLDs are the key to breaking the US market.

I did some searching on 1and1.co.uk and found that paid-surveys-reviewed.com was taken, but much to my surprise http://www.paidsurveysreviewed.com was available! I was a bit under the influence of alcohol but decided it was a good opportunity and bought it!

Now I have to come up with a fresh looking review site which contains all the affiliate links. I am on the look out for a free script which will look like Amazon or Ciao.

Then I need to promote it like mad to get some natural traffic to complement the Adwords. I think I will replace all the links I have for c4skins.net with this which should give a quick influx of links.

I will keep you posted on developments.

13 year old causing a stir at shoemoney.com

David Wilkinson, apparently only 13 years old, have been given a guest post on shoemoney.com

It isn't the first post on Shoemoney by David, but it is the first blatent sales pitch post. See the full article here.

This post has to date been commented on 128 times. He has caused quite a stir by blatently adding an affiliate link to a link cloaking product, several times.

As I have posted in the comments, I believe the backlash is more about Shoemoney allowing this on his blog rather than the ballsy attempt by this guy to make some money off the back off shoe's 10000 regular readers. Shoemoney is usually very good at highlighting if a post is an advert or paid for post.

David has been very aggressive in his responses to the comments (mainly negative) and although he doesn't think so, I believe it will damage his reputation within the online marketing world.

I hope he makes enough out of this to make it worthwhile.

Free £30 Google Adwords Voucher

I received an offer from Google I couldn't refuse. I had been avoiding paying for visitors, thinking that I could generate enough visitors for free using good SEO techniques.

When I got the £30 Adwords Voucher from Google I thought, what have I got to lose?

With the recent launch of the c4skins.net review site I thought this would be the perfect landing for any clicks.

I created a stand-out advert using a catchy headline then I started by adding as many key word phrases as possible which were suggested by Adwords after they scanned the content of the site. I soon worked out the level of Cost Per Click I had to bid in order for my add to be shown and what I was willing to pay for the lead based on the potential return. Depending on the affiliate product my commission from purchases made through c4skins.net could be from $6 to $50 so I had to be careful not to spend too much.

I soon learnt which keywords were popular and discovered that one particular element of online money making was most popular and had a relatively low cost per click compared to the more generic "make money online" keywords.

I decided to set up a separate landing page for this particular niche to avoid people being put off and this has really helped. Within 24 hours I had my first commission $23.50 from approximately $8 worth of clicks, not a bad return - but maybe it was beginners luck - next day, another commission from a similar product $22.50 so in total $46 in commission from $20 spent on clicks. The interesting thing is that I had almost 40 clicks and 2 purchases. this is 5% conversion and to be honest I am not sure if this is good or not just at the moment.

I have paused the campaign just at the moment to see if I can modify the landing page to make it more attractive to buy.

So, in conclusion my first attempt at Adwords and affiliates has been successful especially as I didn't spend any of my money, just Google cash!

I intend to refine and expand to see if this can work on a bigger scale.

I have also played about with some keywords for other sites and although the traffic has not been great in terms of revenue it has been cheap traffic and has allowed me to get a real feel for the keywords that are searched for and which ones to try and optimise the sites for.
